Really surprised at that. It’s nice art, but not the one most people associate with the film.

I remembered The Martian Chronicles when it was on tv on Saturday nights when i was a kid. Very disappointed when i watched the series on dvd. What i recalled was a single episode - the rest in my opinion was a bit dull.

Yes it was a disappointing adaptation of Ray Bradbury's book with some truly risible SFX. The book is in actual fact a series of short stories that make up the 'chronicles' and to be honest not the best source material for a series of this sort. Even when Bradbury writes futuristic Sf he does it with a profound undercurrent of nostalgia which the producers of this series tried but failed to capture.

PS by coincidence I've just finished reading Bradbury's short 'ghost' story The Lake which I'd recommend to anyone to seek out... a masterpiece!

Legendary producer/director Dan Curtis (The Night Stalker, The Night Strangler) teams up with renowned sci-fi/horror writers Richard Matheson (I Am Legend) and William F. Nolan (Logan’s Run) to present three tales of horrific suspense in this highly rated and critically acclaimed made-for-television anthology that also showcases the tremendous acting talent of Karen Black (Burnt Offerings, The Day of the Locust), who plays four distinct roles. In Julie, an aggressive college student seduces and ultimately blackmails his seemingly shy English professor; in Millicent and Therese, two polar-opposite sisters become increasingly hell-bent on the undoing of one another; and in Amelia, a woman falls prey to a murderous Zuni fetish doll. The strong supporting cast includes George Gaynes (Tootsie), John Karlen (Daughters of Darkness) and Gregory Harrison (TV’sTrapper John, M.D.).

here's one for fans of obscurities - The Ghost of Sierra de Cobre

apparently this was made as a TV Pilot but never got broadcast because it was deemed too scary. it was then reworked by UA as a feature. directed by George Stevens of Alfred Hitchcock Presents fame. the BR will apparently include the pilot version titled The Haunted as well.
