"In the time-warp tradition of Iceman comes Ghost Warrior, an inventive fantasy-adventure from cult-movie king Charles Band (Parasite).

Suddenly awake after 400 years of frozen sleep, a valiant samurai warrior struggles to survive the harsh challenges of modern-day Los Angeles

This action-packed tale is the thrilling saga of Yoshi (Hiroshi Fujioka, High Seas Hijack, In the Line of Duty III), a master of Japan’s 16th-century fighting arts who is accidentally frozen in time and miraculously revived in the 1980s. On the run from the institute that ended his sleep of centuries, Yoshi must pit his ancient skills and power against the forces of a violent and confusing world. He has vanquished enemies from a distant time—but can he prevail on the streets of the future?

Also known as Swordkill, Ghost Warrior co-stars the wonderful Janet Julian (King of New York)."

'Death Wish' (1974) - Coming to 4KUHD from Kino Lorber Studio Classics

Release date: January 24

"In this explosive story of revenge and urban violence, screen legend Charles Bronson (Mr. Majestyk, Breakheart Pass) plays Paul Kersey, a bleeding-heart liberal who has a change of opinion after his wife and daughter are brutally attacked by a gang of thugs in their apartment. Another classic collaboration between Bronson and director Michael Winner (Chato’s Land, The Mechanic, The Stone Killer), Death Wish is a violent, controversial film that is frank and original in its treatment of urban crime and the average citizen’s helplessness in dealing with it

Jazz great Herbie Hancock (Colors) wrote the musical score. Vincent Gardenia (Death Wish II), Steven Keats (The Friends of Eddie Coyle), Stuart Margolin (TV’s The Rockford Files), Stephen Elliott (Beverly Hills Cop) and Hope Lange (Blue Velvet) co-star. And watch for Jeff Goldblum (The Fly) and John Herzfeld (Cobra) in their film debuts."

'THE ASPHYX' (1972)

Release date: January 31st

"Blending elements of Gothic horror with the more contemporary ingredients of steampunk, The Asphyx has emerged from obscurity to become a cult favorite of the sci-fi/fantasy genre

Utilizing an experimental photographic device, a scientist (Robert Stephens, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes) captures what appears to be the image of the Asphyx — the ancient Greek spirit of the dead. With the help of his adopted son (Robert Powell, The Italian Job), he conducts further experiments and conceives of a way to harness the Asphyx and thereby gain immortality

But, as every visionary scientist should know, defying the laws of the natural and spiritual world unleashes dreadful consequences

Sumptuously shot by director Peter Newbrook (Corruption) and cinematographer Freddie Young (Lawrence of Arabia), The Asphyx unfolds into one of the most unusual and haunting supernatural chillers of British cinema and the only feature film directed by Newbrook

This special edition also includes the extended 99-minute cut of film – This reconstruction of the extended version blends HD footage mastered from the 35mm negative with SD footage mastered from a U.S. release print (of inferior quality). As a result, significant shifts in image quality will occur."

Special features and specs:
  • NEW Audio Commentary by Novelist/Critic Kim Newman and Writer/Editor Stephen Jones
  • Includes the Standard 86-Minute UK Cut and Extended 99-Minute US Cut
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Limited Edition O-Card Slipcase
  • Optional English Subtitles
  • Color
  • 86 Minutes
  • 2.35:1
  • Rated PG
