I used to have The Challenge on German dvd.
Found it quite a chore to sit through tbh......

Let's hope another wee Scott Glenn outing is in the offing as MGM own the rights as well......;)

Watched Stryker yesterday.
Great to see this spruced up and uncut,I'm sure the old Thorn Emi video was pretty badly cut, especially the rape scene.

Great fun this!
Anyone who enjoys the old Mad Max apocalypto rip offs will love this!

Is it definitely uncut Reaps as that would be good news indeed. The rape scene was also cut for an 'R' in the states, while the UK Thorn EMI version was precut losing themost of the rape & a neck breaking for sure. It's on YT in the 'R' cut if you need a comparison.

Doubt it. Retromedia released a 40th anniversary edition four years ago with a very nice picture.

It's a really dodgy looking monster that a quality bluray print will be able to see the stitches in the costume. Rick Baker created the creature.

I really like the film thats why i laughed at the end of my earlier post.

If you haven't seen it Reaper you could do a lot worse than pick up the new blu.

Incidentally Retromedia's only extra was an additional film from the same film maker called The Cremators. Now that really is bad.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 13th January 2017 07:11 PM

I used to have that dvd.
Along with films like Invasion of the Blood Farmers,Alien Dead......crass classics.Hilarious.

I got both the German editions but will happily treble dip for the classic The Wanderers,if they use that poster it only really looks good if you see the whole image of the car on the poster, otherwise the German covers are both exceptable.

Don't **** with the Baldies!

Yeah a shame he never really became a star, the only other worth while film I saw him in was Fort Apache the Bronx (1981).

Yeah, I think Fred Olen Ray's label Retromedia might be releasing it instead.

"In July of 2014, we announced our first KINO LORBER STUDIO CLASSICS release and our 70+ deal with MGM. Since then we've released over 300 KLSC titles from MGM, Fox, Paramount/Republic, CBS and some non-studio deals.

In a couple of days we'll be announcing the first title from our new deal with a NEW major studio"

Confirmed to be Buena Vista/Disney.

100+ titles will be coming to DVD and BD some of which haven't been released on DVD before.

just to be precise from HTF:

"So we don't get ahead of ourselves, here's what I can share with you:

I'm sorry, but at this time, they are not willing to license any title they've released on DVD under their own banner. We have titles from the ABC, Selznick, Touchstone and Hollywood libraries. This was a package deal, mostly pre-selected, so to get all the gems, we also had to pick up a few lesser titles, but as we know, some of those lesser titles are also regularly requested."
