Was it never cut for animal violence? In the version I saw it looked like they were really killing the rats and filming them in slow motion but I can't remember if I saw it as UK release or if it was an import?

As i said in th OP. I've never seen it.

Killing rats should hardly be an issue.

The BBFC listing doesn't state cuts for The Food of the Gods.

It's only got two listings, a cinema X from 1976 and this Blu-ray listing for 2023 at 15.
