It'll be interesting to see how these sell? In a woke world it could be that many will have a hankering for these despite the 'quality' of the films and may even see their purchase as a form of rebellion... could be a good move by Indicator, but I'm surprised its not the Confessions series which are owned by Sony...

Maybe dipping the toe in first?

But yeah I reckon it'll sell out in no time.....especially in the UK.

Anyone want to bet?

Day one purchase!

I asked them ago on Twitter about films like these (the Confessions ones in particular), and recall being told that they weren't the type of films they were interested in. How times have changed

'The Reckoning' (1970) - Standard Edition Blu-ray pre-order available from Powerhouse Films direct - £9.99

Release date: April 25

"A ruthless business executive (an intense tour de force performance by leading man Nicol Williamson) returns home to his Liverpool roots to investigate his father’s death. An unflinching exploration of the British class system, Jack Gold's penetrating, brutal drama stands alongside contemporary classics Up the Junction and Room at the Top, and pre-dates Get Carter by a year. Underrated and underexposed, The Reckoning may well be one of the most essential British films ever made."

Special features:
  • High Definition remaster
  • Original mono audio
  • Culture Clash (2017, 20 mins): interview with writer, journalist and broadcaster Matthew Sweet
  • Memories of Marler (2017, 3 mins): interview with actor Tom Kempinski
  • On Your Marks (2017, 4 mins): interview with second assistant director Joe Marks
  • Original theatrical trailer
  • Image gallery: on-set and promotional photography
  • English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing

Is this the one where Nicol Williamson gets punched at a party?

If so, I saw The Reckoning at school in my drama class in a cut down version.

I remember the teacher warning us of the bad language before he put it on the projector

I never thought about it at the time but it's amazing that we were allowed to watch some of these films at school. I also saw a cut-down version of Roman Polanski's Macbeth, including the beheading scene, which was an X certificate. I can't have been more than 13 at the time! Can't think James Ferman would have approved of us working class proles being exposed to such mind altering violence at such an early impressionable age

Could have been worse - you could have been watching it with your pet dog!

Quite good Rob.

He's a less cool version of Jack Carter.....

Do Powerhouse ship early on pre-orders or not until release date?
