What i do like about Powerhouse is that they release their fair share of obscure films, or at least obscure and new to me, so i then can go out and buy the dvd for £4 like The Chase and The Deadly Affair without having to shell out £15.

Plus i've the option of upgrading to blu at a later date if i think the film is exceptional.

The Chase being the Robert Redford film? Remember liking that. I've got The Deadly Affair on a 23rd Century dvd ....

Default Powerhouse Films

Robert Redford, Marlon Brando, Jane Fonda, Robert Duvall, James Fox, Angie Dickinson and an entire panoply of instantly recognisable character actors like E.G. Marshall, Miriam Hopkins, etc. etc. etc. It's an absolutely phenomenal cast.

And with the proviso that I co-produced it so am far from unbiased, it's a pretty phenomenal disc - the 4K restoration looks eye-poppingly gorgeous, and the Arthur Penn and James Fox interviews (each around 25 mins) are two of the meatiest I can recall on a recent release. Penn comes courtesy of the raw footage from Paul Joyce's doc Marlon Brando: The Wild One (some of which also ended up on Arrow's One-Eyed Jacks, although there's no content overlap), while Fox is interviewed by his son-in-law Richard Ayoade, who is pretty much perfect: he's clearly done the necessary homework with unnerving thoroughness, but there's also a wonderfully easy rapport with a man he's been related to by marriage for a decade.

And we also licensed the Twilight Time extras: commentary, isolated John Barry score, and so on.

Sainsburys are doing a double bill of ghosts of mars/vampires, looks like films only, no extras.

Yup, both films, 5.1 soundtracks, trailers and SDH subtitles on a single BD50.

I wonder if FANATIC will be the British print and actually have that as an onscreen title or will come up as DIE, DIE MY DARLING ?
