Some complaints out there that this is a disappointing Hammer release because of the low profile titles. But I'd say this is really positive as they are the Universal owned titles previously released by Final Cut, often with dodgy aspect ratios and limited extras which means we can look forward to having the following upgraded:
Brides of Dracula
Curse of the Werewolf
Kiss of the Vampire
Evil of Frankenstein

I really dont mind having less popular films since others have been released alot. I've quite enjoyed catching up with their non horror based thrillers. It's like a would love a cannon set of their less popular films (hint hint distributors)

The Nightmare posters they are giving away when ordered from the label direct are really nice.

I'd have gone for this set myself. But i think Phantom of the Opera is dismal. I'm talking Woman in Black 2 as the only horror they released that i dislike more.

A box set of the other four Rob mentioned will be a definite purchase.

Couldn't agree more about Phantom. I mean Hammer made cheaper films with worse acting but Phantom commits the cardinal sin of being boring as hell.

However, Captain Clegg and Nightmare are really good and I've never seen The Shadow of the Cat so I'm in for this. I'm going to buy it from the website at full price to help support future Hammer releases.

Shadow of the Cat is superb, Rob. Perhaps my favourite Barbara Shelley performance.

I think Hammer tripped themselves up a bit by not having The Phantom do the killings but his assistant. Also the make up for the Phantom unmasking was poor.
Paranoiac is another Universal and one that I have not upgraded yet so may wait and see what other titles are coming.
