My copy is in a similar collection but from TCM - A Christmas Carol (1938), Christmas in Connecticut and The Shop around the Corner being the other three films.

A cracking war film with one hell of a cast.
Blimey! I forgot about this release.
The extended TV cut sounds very nice.
I remember seeing the quad poster outside a cinema on its release.

It arrived yesterday. Don't know whether to watch the 'movie' version first or the tv cut. I suppose the movie version that i'm already familiar with thanks to dvd that way you make the whole set a longer experience.

My Requiem for a Village PHUSA arrived.

Don't know if there's any difference from the BFI edition,but it's a nice package anyway.
(Plus.I prefer the cover!)

These were added to the Indicator disc:

• Two commentaries featuring David Gladwell - talking about his career in the first, and Requiem for a Village specifically in the second;
• Three additional shorts: 28b Camden Street, New Way at Northgate and Can Horses Sing?;
• Commentary by Thirza Wakefield on Can Horses Sing?;
• Substantially improved SDH subtitles on the main feature (half as many again when compared with the BFI edition);
• SDH subtitles on all the shorts bar the two that don’t need any (the BFI edition only subtitled the main feature);
• Booklet that takes advantage of a decade’s additional scholarship into “folk horror” (the BFI edition came out in 2011).

Yeah it's a great package,I watched it last night.

It's a one off film about the transition to modern times in which the modern times now look dated!

Fascinating,the tit-for-tat letters between Gladwell and the BBC2 programmer.

Gladwell was more than able for them!

I would imagine they have loads of leftovers from last year’s web store exclusive and are trying to get rid. Most people had probably bought it first time around or in the 2+ years until the new version appeared bought the separates in the 3 for £20 offer like I did.
