I don't think that Trading Places will be released anytime soon in this current climate

i don't see why not? Eddie wins the day. its blacking up in comedy shows that is the main focus. these old movies are products of their time and will be seen in that context. nervous distributors will be be able to put out context warnings if they wish. that's ok with me as long as there are no cuts.

Looking for Mr. Goodbar

however, to be honest I'd rather a boutique got these and released them with lots of extras
Intresting line up. That's one title from Paramount that deserves either an Indicator or Eureka release, Looking for Mr. Goodbar. Never came out on Region 1 or through Lorbor, Olive Films. Something must be holding this title back from public release. I would also like to see No Way to Treat a Lady.

There are some serious, epic films in the collection like these......
Best Defence is the biggest pile of turd I've ever seen. I remember back in the days of rental VHS working in a rental shop in Woking. That's one Eddie Murphy title that barely ever got rented out.

Having to slave over Dudley Moore playing about with the fiddly bits from that DYP-gyro through half of the movie was enough for me.
I'd rather watch Dudley Moore fiddle about with Bo Derek's fiddly bits in "10".

Now that's a quality premium collection title. "10".

I did hear a long while back that it was to do with music rights. But knowing what Paramount is like with some of these films from the past. King David would be an intresting title to release on Premium/HMV. Another Paramount title that doesn't get much love, but I rather enjoyed the film.

When I was a young child, and feels like 2,000 yrs ago, my uncle ran a vhs rental shop in Woking. I would come home from school and then get on my BMX bike down to high street to work in the shop. Though I was paid pocket money, but I loved being in that shop, and watching what tapes got rented out constantly throughout the years that proceeded. My love of VHS started, and then the advent ebay changed all that in 1995. Most of my tapes came from the shop my uncle had, though in the later years I started buying up tapes from rental shops for very little money. My luv for VHS started right there in that shop. We use to have a Chinese takeaway just two shops away. Use to buy a takeaway and sit watching the latest releases like Evil Dead, C.H.U.D., Spies Like Us, Pale Rider, The Goonies etc....

Miss it!
