The worst DVDs i've seen for pathetic PQ are most definitely:

Germany's Red Edition Nightmare City, the U.K. Hollywood DVD print of The Grim Reaper, Troma's original release of Fanatic
(aka. The Last Horror Film and Intervision's VHS pre-cert looked better imo!) and the ancient fullscreen Canadian versions of Day Of The Animals and Grizzly.

No doubt there's a veritable ocean of teeth-grindingly bad DVD transfers out there and the many titles mentioned in this thread are just the tip of the ire-inducing iceberg.

Ahh, Germany Red Editions. I have "Hardware" from that label. Thank god that movie has been re-issued properly.

Vipco should have their own section for this category. Hard to pick a favourite (ie worst transfer) but their abominable release of The Slayer takes some beating.

The Real Emanuelle from Mya Communications.

Totally unwatchable.

Avoid this one at all cost.

VIRUS-The all star cast thriller.
The same artwork as the old Intervision VHS.
It also appears to have been transferred from an eightieth generation Barras pirate copy.
They didn't even have the decency to adjust the tracking whilst transferring it....

They even used the shorter US print which missed out over 40 mins of the film. The BCI Eclipse DVD is the full Japanese version and a hugely superior movie.

I have that disc, it's nothing more than a glorified dvd-r. Movies for Men often show a lovely remastered version (which is slightly cut)

Vipco's Grave of the Vampire is still the worst I have ever seen, closely followed by their disc's of Bloody Moon, God Told Me To, Night of the Demon and Shock Waves (I have seen ALL of Vipco's dvd releases and they are definitely the worst)

Dishonorable mentions also for the Hollywood dvd of Anthropophagus and the Boulevard release of Creature from Black Lake.

Fully agree. Even the old EIV video is better quality than this.

Is this the version available in the 3 disc Sonny Chiba collection with an orange or yellow cover featuring the Japanese action legend posing with a gun?
