The only connection with the MCU is the fact that the monsters will share the same universe, characters crossing over into other films etc, I doubt there's gonna be any superhero type bullshit infused in any of the films

This was planned years ago, but because Van Helsing didn't do well at the box office, the idea was scrapped.

I don't know if The Wolfman is the start of the revamp or if it's going to be Mission: Imhotep that starts it all

It'll have to be Mission Imhotep. That's set in the modern day whereas The Del Toro Wolfman wasn't. If that was to be included a mash up would have to involve some sort of time travel.

Yes, Dracula Untold was definitely supposed to be the start of a franchise.

Despite me thinking it was bilge it made three times it's money back worldwide.
