The tile warehouse I managed had a computer with a dial up connection way back then-state of the art...exciting times was the second coming of Vipco's Vault of Horror collection!

And before anyone scoffs, uncut films were only an option through overseas relatives and at-your own-risk mail order!

My female boss used to order all the Vipco vhs tapes from Blackstar and let me pay her up out my wages!

They were very exciting, especially to a 12 year old me!

Remember seeing them all on the shelves of Global Video with their lurid taglines; 'PREVIOUSLY BANNED', 'MOST VIOLENT FILM EVER MADE', 'EXTREME VERSION', 'MORE GORE THAN ALLOWED BEFORE' and made me desperate to see them. Of course it wasn't until a few years later that I saw them and realised most were cut to shreds!

Yeah, but I found out they were cut and still bought them. Like you the covers sucked me in

I remember ranting to my now brother in law that Cannibal Ferox did not live up to the blurb on the cover and that literally everything had been cut out. He just looked at me like I was some kind of psycho and slowly started to back away.

Yeah,it was an abomination.
Not long after buying that video,I went out and bought a multi region dvd player and phoned one of the many then region 1 mail order companies for the grindhouse dvd....not much difference!

The Vipco version is strangely watchable though, it plays like a really bizarre TV movie.

Here are two large sized Vipco promo posters I got off e-bay a couple of years back:

I also have one for ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS 2 but can't seem to find it at minute.

Well, I'll consider that a heads up! I got given a bunch of movies by a mate a while ago. They belonged to his Grandad and he'd left them to him. He had no use for them and gave them to me. Felt a bit weird taking them, but they included Thai imports of Cannibal Holocaust (and a film called Cannibal Holocaust 2). Ferox is in there too but I've not gotten around to watching it yet. Seems I'm better off that way!

Can anyone imagine, what if, Vipco was still around today.

Imagine Vipco starting to release Blu Rays, can anyone imagine what it would be like?
