Arrow have also released Bay of Blood and Don't Go in the House, and Shameless have released Cannibal Holocaust (although it is cut by about 12 seconds). Synapse have released Pranks, too. |

I don't think the term will ever be dropped for this group of films.It's been around now for over twenty eight years, and people still use it routinely to describe films like, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Cannibal Ferox, Nightmares in a Damaged Brain, etc.

You're probably right. But as long as we keep using the term it allows the continuation of the idea that these films are trash and are offensive and should be banned. We all hate it when the likes of the Daily Mail routinely dredge up the moniker whenever a new controversial film is released - it's like an insult. And yet horror fans often use the term in a casual offhanded manner. Either we want the Nasties tag to be dropped or we don't. But as long as we keep using it, so will the Mail and the Sun to denigrate the films we love.
