Yeah, I know, have you seen their release of Absurd aka Horrible? At least they named it correctly! But as one of the nasties that hasn't had an English friendly release, it must be mine and I can use the Dutch VHS port-over that I currently own as a coaster!

"Video Nasty is a new six part comic book series that is set in 1983, at the heart of the hysteria about horror videos that would see video stores up and down the country raided, films banned, government censorship imposed and the sort of hysterical headlines that the British people are so used to seeing demanding that something be done' and using entirely made-up facts and stories to support their case. And as we are in the grip of another moral panic – this time about internet porn – it all feels rather timely. Mario Covone's story takes place in a slightly fictionalised – but, as anyone who was there at the time will tell you, not especially exaggerated – world, where fiction and reality seem to be colliding. A man has been killed by a monstrous figure, with a Swastika-emblazoned knife left at the scene, in Kettering of all places. A police officer, David Gorley, interviews a local neo-Nazi, who would perhaps be the prime suspect if he wasn't rather inconveniently already in jail. But the Chief Constable, infamous nutter and God's Cop James Anderton (miraculously relocated from Manchester to Northampton) wants him to look into the whole 'video nasty' angle, as the government and the press are already blaming the murder on violent videos, and while he's reluctant, he wants to keep his job. By the end of issue 2, he's rented copies of Cannibal Holocaust and Zombie Flesh Eaters." STRANGE THINGS ARE HAPPENING: VIDEO NASTY COMIC BOOK REVIEW https://www.facebook.com/VideoNastyComic

The DPP section 3 list of video nasties is a list of 80 films that it was believed could get a conviction under the lesser section three of the Obscene Publication Act. This would mean the confiscation and destroying of video tapes ordered by a magistrate. These were films that were not considered to be capable of getting a conviction at the High Court but had got guilty pleas at Magistrates Court. The list is considered to be why there is confusion between people on what was actually on the Video Nasties list. DPP Section 3 List | Video Nasties Podcast
