This set looks to be a thing of beauty and I've just ordered one from that address. £50 with free delivery doesn't seem too bad and I should really go through the 21 disc Hammer Collection again.

I have that book. It has some excellent pictures which fired up my imagination as a kid. Slaughterhouse 5 was one if i remember rightly.

I also wondered if Final Cut would move into Blu-Ray, especially after Optimum releasing some. So what do we get instead? A second DVD...

Ohhhh, to add to it, I thought I'd check the Amazon listing. Nearly £22???
It's a bit of a mixed bag, mate. The films are a bit all over the place. A Hammer owned in the US territory is likely to be completely different to European license holders.

True but I was thinking more specifically about a title like Curse in the UK. Final Cut released their first DVD last year so I'm assuming they acquired the rights recently, probably have it tied up for 5 years and the best they can do is re-release it on DVD. No disrespect to them but I'd just love to see these kind of films go to independant companies that are prepared to go a stage further.

I saw this at the cinema projected digitally a year or so ago and the quality was amazing. A BD should be able to contain all that information, along with extra features, so the AV quality (hopefully) will be superb.

Although I really like the films they release, Final Cut have yet to go overboard with special features and haven't yet released anything in HD, so I'd be surprised if they have the rights for a release of this magnitude. Hopefully it will be the property of a company who, like Eureka or StudioCanal, has dealt with high-profile titles, Blu-ray releases and significant amounts of extra features.
