The WB transfers were praised at the time of release. I think they are in a 1.85 aspect ratio though as opposed to the 1.66 that most seem to think is the optimum for Hammer releases. Having said that though, there doesn't seem to be too many complaints regarding headroom that plagued a similar aspect ratio for Brides of Dracula.

Non-Scope Hammer films were generally composed so that they’d look fine anywhere from 1.66:1 to 1.85:1 - a practical necessity thanks to their substantial markets in mainland Europe (1.66:1), the UK (1.75:1) and the US (1.85:1).

And I may be misremembering this, but wasn’t the Brides headroom controversy thanks to it being framed at 2:1 for some mad reason?

No you are right. It was me who is misremembering. I was actually thinking of some of the DVDs. But doing a quick bit of research shows that was a 2:1 problem also.

Can i ask why you bought that Reaps?

The UK release seems pretty comprehensive extras wise. Was it mainly for the different artwork?

Is that the German or US release?

I suspect this title will be part of an Indicator boxset in the near future.
