There are other examples of films that look worse on "newer" Mill Creek sets because they didn't use the BCI materials.

Code Red has access to all the BCI materials but maybe they'll make a new transfer just for Dem. ;)

The version i have is on the original Cult Classics box set, It may have the original BCI print, i'm not sure.

Same as the BCI double feature I think. ;)

Keep in mind that Crown had problems supplying BCI with decent materials for a lot of their films.

Most of the Mill Creek discs I've viewed so far were near enough unwatchable. You get the odd good print, but a lot of it is VHS sourced and encoded as a pixellated mess. I tried to watch Cathy's Curse a film I've wanted to see since the early 80's when I first read about it, but the transfer in one of the Mill Creek boxsets is so blocky and pixellated it's impossible to watch it. Shame, I wanted to see it. Not surprising when you consider they're bunging 2 (and sometimes 3) films onto a single layer disc.

Their Spaghetti Western BD double bill isn't bad, - the transfers obviously haven't been given the restoration job of, say, a criterion release, but for the price it's pretty decent.

The sets they put out are certainly cheap enough to make it worth the gamble. I've got several sets to work my way through, but it can be a chore when the films are encoded so badly. But now and again you discover a decent print oif a film you'd otherwise never have seen, so that's one good point in their favour.

I watched one recently, the name of which escapes me, but a couple go camping and the girl gets raped. Then along comes their mate Robert Englund, who waxes philosophical about the girl's ordeal and sets off to put everything right. Strange little oddity, but it had a lovely print (considering).

I have a few of their sets.

Explosive Cinema: 12 Movie Collection

Girls, Guns & G-Strings - The Andy Sidaris Collection

The Gorehouse Greats Collection

Pure Terror - 50 Movie Pack

I had this sitting out when my fiancee came over and she asked me if this was a porn movie I explained that they are cheesy action flicks that featured TV stars like Eric Estrada and playboy playmates.
I was able to dodge the bullet on that one.

Ive been going through the 44 Spaghetti Western films and most of them prints are brilliant bar the odd film here and there

I am sure I have some Mill Creek Spaghetti Western releases knocking about. To be honest, it is getting quite difficult to keep track of my Spaghetti Western disks!

I think the movie your talking about is Sunburst but it may have more than one title. It's called Slashed Dreams on my Chilling boxset.

I have had pretty good luck with the movies on my Mill Creek sets they haven't been done too bad.
