Indeed not.

And I'd also be interested to know if there's any visible damage or "burn marks" on footage other than the film clips screened in the Cinema Paradiso itself - which are deliberately distressed for obvious narrative/realism reasons. Trying to render those pristine would be as absurd as cleaning up the 'March of Time' sequence in Citizen Kane.

I am sure these questions would have been put directly to the Reviewer, but unfortunately due to forum politics they can not.

Thats lovely! I'll take one of both! Only the best treatment for one of my favourite musicals!

i wish Arrow would make a Night of the living dead Blu Ray box set to make my day and dawn of the dead look more at home on the shelf. that would be a nice addition to my small but ever growing arrow set.

The Long Goodbye Blu-ray Review | AVForums

"If you appreciate great movies, you'll appreciate The Long Goodbye. Far more than just another film noir, it defies the noir genre, defies its heritage, and yet - somehow - stays ultimately truer to the intentions of the original author, Raymond Chandler, than any other adaptations of his work. It's been misunderstood, underestimated, and underappreciated over the years but it's only grown in critical acclaim and cult following. Now's the time to re-open the case on this 70s masterpiece.

Arrow Academy's stunning Region B-locked UK Blu-ray release is simply a blind buy purchase. You HAVE to have it. Compiling all the previous extras - together with some great new ones - it offers comprehensive supplements that are the icing on the cake beyond the outstanding authorised video presentation and audio track, both of which are amidst the best of their kind from this era. Fans should already have this on pre-order. Newcomers interested should not hesitate either."

Picture Quality 9
Sound Quality 9
Extras 10
Overall 10
