Just read Facebook comments by James White. He said that he was working in Bologna, on an Argento title (4K scans sourced from the original camera negative) and "this is without doubt the highest quality I've ever seen an Argento film looking." What was particularly interesting, was that whilst he wouldn't reveal the film, he said in the comments that it was to be the first of three Argento titles coming in 2017. Might be old news but that was still new to me, confirmation that Arrow will be releasing 3 Dario Argento blu-rays this year.

I'm betting the titles will be Bird, Phenomena and Opera.

I can see why they'd release Bird and Opera but the original Phenomena blu already looks amazing.

Synapse have recently remastered and released it in the US so there is already better elements (possibly) open to them. It also contains both cuts of the film in HD which the original Arrow Blu doesn't so that is another potential selling point.

I think that the original Arrow release of Phenomena has far too much noise reduction. Donald Pleasance looks like he has undergone an extremely successful facelift!

I actually like The Card Player.

The exact wording of the beginning of James White's Facebook post was "Currently in Bologna working on a new restoration of a popular Dario Argento film, the title of which I can't yet divulge."

The key word is "popular" so we are safe. No 4K mastered Giallo or Dracula (don't worry, I know that you were joking).

I expect the three blu-rays to be 'classic' Argento. My money's on upgrades of Bird, Inferno & Phenomena. But I wouldn't mind Opera at all.
