NEW UK/US/CA TITLE: RoboCop (Limited Edition)

Release date: November 25th, 2019

The future of law enforcement is back in a definitive Blu-ray presentation packed with hours of brand new bonus features and exclusive collectable packaging.

"PART MAN, PART MACHINE, ALL COP.

RoboCop, from Orion Pictures, marked director Paul Verhoeven s (Flesh + Blood) Hollywood debut and instantly became an enduring sci-fi/action classic when it landed in theatres in the summer of 1987. Verhoeven s peerlessly exciting and kinetic visuals were matched by a sharp script, iconic cast and exceptional special effects by Rob Bottin (The Thing) and Phil Tippett (The Empire Strikes Back).

The film takes place in Detroit in the not-too-distant future. Heroic cop Alex Murphy (Peter Weller, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai) is gunned down in the line of duty, only to be resurrected as RoboCop a cybernetic mix of spare human parts and Motor City steel, and the latest defense against crime designed by the all-powerful OCP Corporation. As RoboCop s memories of his former life as Murphy resurface, only his ex-partner (Nancy Allen, Dressed To Kill) stands beside him to fight against the vicious thugs responsible for his death, as well as a nefarious top-level OCP executive orchestrating the chaos from above.

Unsurpassably thrilling, unexpectedly moving and unforgettably hilarious in equal measure, the future of law enforcement is back in a definitive Blu-ray presentation packed with hours of brand new bonus features and exclusive collectable packaging."

By all means don't take my word for it though. Find out for yourself.

I'm sure some will consider it a master piece of grunge film making.

strangely underwhelmed by this months releases. i'll get RoboCop of course, but because its been on the slate for sometime it doesn't feel exciting. i'll probably also get Fear and Loathing but will be happy for a standard edition of that.

Hitchike to Hell is a very poor film, only really interesting for its atmosphere of grimy sleaziness despite it not being very explicit. its ages since i've seen it but i remember feeling particularly grubby after watching it, even more so than I Spit on your Grave. still i'll probably get it in a sale...

these feel like a warm up for Indicator's Hammer boxset next week.... hopefully....

Nice art for RoboCop by Paul Shipper....ruined by the dual UK/Irish ratings logo. Ah well, at least the original art on the reverse will be ratings free.

When was the last time anyone gave a shit about Robocop's theatrical cut? Putting it on a second disc seems like a pretty shameless way to bump the price up another £5.
