I'm old school, if you can't get in the cinema with fags, booze, a stash of munchies and a dirty raincoat then they can get to feck.

I can have more fun at home.

The Fugitive
The Firm
Sleepless in Seattle
Mrs. Doubtfire
Indecent Proposal
In the Line of Fire
Aladdin
Cliffhanger
A Few Good Men
Free Willy
Groundhog Day
Dave
Rising Sun
Scent of a Woman
Cool Runnings

True Romance doesn't bare any resemblance to that type of movie and was 104th in the boxoffice. It's reputation has grown from video releases and word of mouth.

Pitch Black was a low budget pick-up by Universal and a surprise mini-hit
The point I was making was that films like True Romance and Pitch Black were distributed by BIG studios hence the reason they are far more well known than the Prey's and Satan's Blade's of this world.....and I don't agree that TR and PB are cult films. They were released to a wide audience,104th at the box office or not.....
THE WICKER MAN,WITHNAIL AND I,THE EVIL DEAD,REPO MAN,to me,these are true cult films.

The first time I felt 'uh-ho' was the announcement of 'Water World' in September 2018

For me, that was the announcement that moved arrow films from the 'our-kind' of cult film to 'the-mainstream-kind' of cult films

I was really impressed with The Lion King remake, though less taken with the new Aladdin. After being distinctly cool on Frozen (pun intended) after the first viewing, it's grown on me and I was as impressed with the second one is the first. Although I haven't watched them many times, I like both IT films.

Toy Story 4 was disappointing, nowhere near the high standards of the first three, though it's far from a bad film.

I also liked Spider-Man: Far from Home and Avengers: Endgame, but agree with you that the best film in the top 10 is Joker.

I didn't notice at the time, but Joker isn't a wholly original film because the central character has been part of DC comics since 1940!

There is a big difference between films which performed fairly badly at the box office and where critics were less than enthused, but have become popular over time and those which were not given a worldwide theatrical release, were pretty much ignored by the mainstream press, and have found a small but devoted fan base in the decades since they were made.

Waterworld, True Romance, Pitch Black, The Frighteners, and Dune go in the first category; films like The Beyond, Macabre, and Martin go in the second.
