Arrow QC strikes again!!

Someone on FB has posted that the film 'Awakening Of The Beast' from the 'Inside The World Of Coffin Joe' box set "...has no English subtitles after the 30 minute mark. Arrow has apparently pulled the set from shelves until they can get some sort of fix for this"

DVDCompare seems to confirm this: "The subtitles disappear at thirty-three minutes for the remainder of the film. We will make a notification here when Arrow posts their replacement program for those who received early copies."

Seems to be more common thing now amongst companies making mistakes or sending out faulty copies or something.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with Coffin Joe? I pre ordered this on Amazon way back, it missed the December release, was due to be delivered today but my order has now vanished and its listed as unavailable? Are those clowns at Arrow listing stuff on Amazon and then not giving Amazon the stock?

I wouldn't buy direct from Arrow if my life depended on it. Though.

Never mind, I've just read the above post. Just getting really hacked off with labels listing titles, missing release dates, and sending out garbage that needs replacing.

IF YOU DONT HAVE A PRODUCT READY TO SELL, DONT SELL IT.

I'm off to have a lie down.

Don’t give a release date until they are certain it’s correct and ready.

I must of known this was going to happen as I didn't preorder this one :lol:

Really though, QC is prone to human error and human laziness, so a certain percentage of releases will go tits up in some form or another. There does seem to be a bit of an uptick in mistakes recently but I suspect overall the number of releases, as a percentage, that have gone wrong, remains fairly constant.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be irritated if it happens to you but I think having an acceptance that occasionally you will have to enter into a disc replacement programme may be easier on the blood pressure ;)

Yes, these things happen, but its very frustrating - I think I'm doubly annoyed as Alligator has also been pushed back. I've pre-orderded so many titles lately, they never turn up:

1. Coffin Joe
2. Blackhat
3. Alligator
4. Pete Walker box set
5. Switchblade Romance
6. Crimes of the Future
7. Patrick

Those are just the ones that spring to mind. I know they're not Arrow for the most part. It's just driving me nuts.

Is anyone else finding these release date slippages annoying?

I'd much rather a company push the release date back a few weeks than release something before a thorough QC process has taken place.

This is more cost-effective for the distributor and less wasteful because there is no replacement process to render faulty discs obsolete.

For me it'd be better for a company to announce a title but not say when it's coming out until it's basically ready to go. Then put preorders up a couple of weeks prior to release date.
