I wonder if this now means Arrow are going to release more Troma? I hope they do some of the films that are not on Blu-Ray now like Mother's Day that keeps getting delayed!

I know. I'm usually captain positive but honestly there's no good way to spin this. If you really must buy one bad film Class is the only passable one. Surf Nazis was a huge misfire for Troma back then let alone now. Combat Shock is not a good movie and anyone that did enjoy it has the huge and extremely cheap 2 DVD edition Troma already but out and yep..it's readily available.

That's great since its the only good Troma listed. :-)

It is a good film and one I should re-watch with the commentary and then go through the extra features. As I said, I haven't seen Surf Nazis Must Die but, even though I have really low expectations for the film, it's one I'll buy for the title and artwork.

Of the announcements, the Lady Snowblood Steelbook is pretty much all that appeals to me, sadly. I'm not a huge fan of Comedy Horror, only really a select few hit the mark with me. I'm sure some will welcome Arrow forging a relationship with Troma, but I'm not a fan, personally. I still long for some pure Horror BD releases from Arrow (that we haven't known about for ages). I guess I'll hold out my hope for October.

They said we wouldn't see the effects of the move to Dual Format releases until next year, in terms of new licenses.

I'd seriously pass on it. You can get a much better film for that. It's one of the worst Troma films. Hard to tell from this but I was a Troma fan. Class is a pick-up only if you know what it is and truly like this stuff if not you'll be disappointed.

I'm a connoisseur of 'so bad they're good' films and hope Surf Nazis Must Die will be one of them, turning out to be a guilty pleasure. If so, it's probably going to be one of those films I can put on and say 'Yes, I like to watch highbrow films like Citizen Kane, Vertigo and Tokyo Story but, on the other hand I have plenty of time for movies like this…'!

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 27th April 2012 09:20 AM

Also, it's probably a case of expect the worst and you won't be disappointed. That's how I found cheap B-movies like Attack of the Killer Shrews, The Giant Gila Monster and Bride of the Monster to be such good fun!
