I've still got The Exterminator to watch from about 10 sales ago.

The number of discs I've paid full price for on release day only to have them with literal dust on them around the time the sales come around and I haven't even put the film on once

My resolution is to be better with pre-orders and spend less money until my watch pile has come down somewhat...

I try not to pay more than a tenner for something on release. Don't generally preorder unless something's limited, likt the Dr.Terror steelbook or any bloody Arrow release.

I started doing this a year or so ago and it's worked pretty well for me.

I'll only pre-order limited edition releases now - the only exception being if the title in question is cheap on release day and I can't see it going for much less (88's Slasher and Italian lines for instance). Everything else I just wait and pick up in sales.

I'm the same, I just looked and have 12 arrow releases still in cellophane and nearly half are in the sale! need be more savvy, although I do not buy many films on release straight away any more unless they are limited like the Hellraiser set or the deep red release.

Someone on Arrows Facebook page says they have found a postcard of The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave. Anyone else seen one?

To kick the celebrations off, six specially re-packaged steelbooks will be released exclusively via Zavvi. June 23rd will see the release of Maniac Cop, followed by Day of the Dead on the 30th June. Shortly thereafter Arrow Video will release Black Sunday, Inferno, City of the Living Dead and Phenomena.

Here's where it gets interesting...

In one of these Limited Edition Steelbooks, Arrow Video will place a Golden Ticket, for which one lucky fan will win the entire Arrow Video back-catalogue (provided still in print) and all upcoming 2014 titles.
Did anyone ever find the golden ticket?

Not to my knowledge.

Apparently it was hidden in a copy of the Maniac Cop steelbook. Unfortunately, there are a clique of people who buy steelbooks and never open them, instead using them as some kind of display fodder so it's highly likely the ticket is hermetically sealed somewhere awaiting discovery by archaeologists sometime during the next millennium.
