I first saw HUMAN CONDITION on DVD from Image. Now we've done a deal with Image for other films I discovered in my first job

I never fail to be surprised when I find we have films with similar titles. Two with KILLER in the title coming up

#bonus round "we have loads of titles that are similar" (or the same, think TV show, not THE KILLING (Danish)/THE KILLING (Kubrick)
No-one seems to have guessed it yet. I was thinking it could be a Michael Winner box set, however that would be stretching the Arrow Academy sub-brand a little...

But the still is in colour.

Sorry but i don't want noir in colour, unless it's LA Confidential or Jack with a plaster on his nose, and i doubt it's either of those.

Neo-noir!

They have released The Killers (1964) and The Long Goodbye after all (both great films if you haven't checked them out).

I'll put 2 and 2 together and come up with 11 - it's clearly Michael Winner's The Big Sleep.

I don't think the market is there for Nashy films, from what I remember a US label set about releasing titles a few years ago and they didn't sell too well. So the releases stopped.

Yes you're right.

BCI/Eclipse paid a lot of money for top quality transfers and released the Spanish Horror Collection. Unfortunately they didn't sell well and pretty much destroyed the company, together with the economic downturn in the late 00's.

I'm sure i've read that Arrow won't be going after the Naschy films due to the high cost of the rights to release them. Also their own foray into Paul Naschy - Man with the Severed Head - was not a great seller.

In all honesty the dvd's BCi released were practically HD anyway, they were that good. Problem is now of course is that they are deleted and usually going for silly money secondhand.
