The only one of those that interests me at the moment is Pulse. I have the Shout! Factory release of The Burning, and Arrow will have to go some to beat that.

Are you upgrading to Blu-ray on those two? I'm happy to stick with the DVD releases, just as I am with the Metrodome 'Ultimate 2 Disc Edition' of Donnie Darko. (I also have both versions on DVD along with plenty of extra features, so I don't know how they can be bettered, and thus with new and exclusive bonus material.) I haven't seen The Guyver, so will rent before I buy.

Time for our December Arrow Video announcements!

NEW UK TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT: Hellgate

Recalls the good old days of video rental frights

Pre-order your copy direct here: Hellgate Blu-ray

Beyond the darkness terror lives forever

Legends abound of ‘The Hellgate Hitchhiker’. So the story goes, a beautiful young woman was once brutally defiled and murdered by a biker gang. Now, returned from the dead, she wanders the roadside luring unsuspecting motorists to their doom…

Refusing to heed the warnings of locals, a group of college friends set out on a cross-country road trip looking for fun and frolics. But they get much more than they bargained for when they wind up in the abandoned mining town of Hellgate and hemmed in by hordes of the undead!

Providing gore and gags in equal measure, Hellgate recalls the good old days of video rental frights and challenges other gleefully twisted flicks such as Re-animator and Return of the Living Dead for sheer grisly delirium!

SPECIAL EDITION CONTENTS:
•High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation
•Original uncompressed 2.0 PCM audio
•Road to Perdition, B-Movie Style: An extensive interview with Hellgate director William A. Levey
•Alien Invasion, Blaxploitation and Ghost-Busting Mayhem: Scholar, Filmmaker and fan Howard S. Berger reflects on the intriguing film career of William A. Levey
•Video Nasty: Kenneth Hall, writer of the Puppet Master series, speaks about the direct-to-video horror boom that allowed Hellgate to become a classic of the cassette rental era
•Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Graham Humphreys

NEW UK TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT: Hell Comes to Frogtown

Starring wrestler-turned-actor Rowdy Roddy Piper, Hell Comes to Frogtown is unashamedly a B-movie through and through

Pre-order your copy direct here: Hell Comes To Frogtown Blu-ray

With the 20th Century drawing to a close, nuclear war has wiped out civilization as we know it. The embattled human race’s last remaining hope lies with one man and his loaded weapon.

Sam Hell may be an ex-con, but he also happens to be one of the last surviving fertile men on the planet. Now, under the custody of a group of feisty female fighters, Sam finds himself enlisted on a mission to impregnate a harem of beauties. Sounds cushy enough, but the ladies in question are prisoners of Frogtown – home to a gang of mutant (and ill-mannered) amphibians!

Starring wrestler-turned-actor Rowdy Roddy Piper, known to John Carpenter enthusiasts for his body-slamming and bubblegum-chewing antics in They Live, Hell Comes to Frogtown is unashamedly a B-movie through and through with more guns and girls than you can shake a frog’s leg at.

SPECIAL EDITION CONTENTS:
•High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation
•Original uncompressed 2.0 PCM audio
•Grappling with Green Gargantuans: Wrestling icon "Rowdy" Roddy Piper speaks about his leading man turn in Hell Comes to Frogtown
•Amphibian Armageddon: Actor Brian Frank remembers his role as Commander Toty
•Creature Feature Creator: Effects wizard Steve Wang reveals the secrets behind Hell Comes to Frogtown's mutant manifestations
•Extended Scene
•Original Trailer

I already have the blu-rays. That's why I was joking about flogging them quickly on ebay. They're on Amazon for ridiculous prices.

NEW UK TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT: The Burning Dual Format Blu-ray & DVD

Ready to reclaim its place as the ultimate summer camp nightmare.

Pre-order your copy direct here: Product not found!

IT WILL TAKE YOU FURTHER THAN FEAR.

Of all the many slice-and-dice films that emerged in the early ‘80s, few remain as gruesomely effective as The Burning – the notorious “video nasty” now finally unleashed on Blu-ray!

When an ill-advised prank misfires, summer camp caretaker Cropsy is committed to hospital with hideous burns. Pre-order your copy direct here: Cohen & Tate Dual Format

They were hired killers going up against the deadliest force of all... Each other.

NEW UK TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT: Donnie Darko Limited Edition Dual Format Blu-ray & DVD

This brand-new 4K restoration, carried out exclusively for this release, allows a modern classic to finally receive the home video treatment it deserves.

Pre-order your copy direct here: Donnie Darko Limited Edition Dual Format Blu-ray & DVD

I WANT YOU TO WATCH THE MOVIE SCREEN. THERE’S SOMETHING I WANT TO SHOW YOU.

Fifteen years before Stranger Things combined science-fiction, Spielberg-ian touches and 80s nostalgia to much acclaim, Richard Kelly set the template – and the high-water mark – with his debut feature, Donnie Darko. Initially beset with distribution problems, it would slowly find its audience and emerge as arguably the first cult classic of the new millennium.

Donnie is a troubled high school student: in therapy, prone to sleepwalking and in possession of an imaginary friend, a six-foot rabbit named Frank, who tells him the world is going to end in 28 days 06 hours 42 minutes and 12 seconds. During that time he will navigate teenage life, narrowly avoid death in the form of a falling jet engine, follow Frank’s maladjusted instructions and try to maintain the space-time continuum.

Described by its director as “The Catcher in the Rye as told by Philip K. Dick”, Donnie Darko combines an eye-catching, eclectic cast – pre-stardom Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, heartthrob Patrick Swayze, former child star Drew Barrymore, Oscar nominees Mary McDonnell and Katherine Ross, and television favourite Noah Wyle – and an evocative soundtrack of 80s classics by Echo and the Bunnymen, Tears for Fears and Duran Duran. This brand-new 4K restoration, carried out exclusively for this release by Arrow Films, allows a modern classic to finally receive the home video treatment it deserves.

LIMITED EDITION CONTENTS:
•Brand new 4K restorations of both the Theatrical Cut and the Director’s Cut from the original camera negatives produced by Arrow Films exclusively for this release, supervised and approved by director Richard Kelly and cinematographer Steven Poster
•High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) and Standard Definition DVD presentations of both cuts
•Original 5.1 audio (DTS-HD on the Blu-ray)
•Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
•Audio commentary by writer-director Richard Kelly and actor Jake Gyllenhaal on the Theatrical Cut
•Audio commentary by Kelly, producer Sean McKittrick and actors Drew Barrymore, Jena Malone, Beth Grant, Mary McDonnell, Holmes Osborne, Katharine Ross and James Duval on the Theatrical Cut
•Audio commentary by Kelly and filmmaker Kevin Smith on the Director’s Cut
•Brand-new interviews with Richard Kelly and others
•The Goodbye Place, Kelly’s 1996 short film, which anticipates some of the themes and ideas of his feature films
•The Donnie Darko Production Diary, an archival documentary charting the film’s production with optional commentary by cinematographer Steven Poster
•Twenty deleted and alternate scenes with optional commentary by Kelly
•Archive interviews with Kelly, actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Drew Barrymore, James Duval, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Holmes Osborne, Noah Wyle and Katharine Ross, producers Sean McKittrick, Nancy Juvonen, Hunt Lowry and Casey La Scala, and cinematographer Steven Poster
