EDIT: Picture was huge, so changed it to a link instead.
That's a very nice looking Steelbook. It really pisses me off that I'll double dip purely for the better encoding (I didn't think the first release looked that bad and was pretty impressed with it), but I love the film.

As for Lust in the Dust, I haven't seen it but will probably rent before I buy.

Glad now that I never picked up the Arrow Blu of Tenebrae. But I'll certainly pick up this remastered edition.

It is a little worrying to see them re-releasing their own titles with remastered transfers. Purely because to my mind at least it begs the question 'where will they stop?'

Ohh Tenebrae is a bit of a surprise. From James White's comments in Home Cinema Choice, I had hoped they were going to revisit some of their discs with issues, such as Tenebrae and The Bird With The Crystal Plumage (although perhaps they are locked into Storaro-vision via their contract). Thanks to James White's involvment, their transfers are coming off much more technically competent, and, I personally, see no harm in them putting out a better product. I've always prefered Arrow's package, as a whole, when it comes to features and so forth, but with Tenebrae and Bird I find myself looking elsewhere, not quite satisfied.

Better a remastered re-release than a repackage in my book. But I can see it being a contentious issue with some. I personally want the best of both worlds, and if it's possible for Arrow to revisit a title and do that, I'm more than happy to support it. I don't look at Arrow as a company that would intentionally release a poor version, and then a better in order to make more money.

I personally hope they don't touch that horrible new green hued Day Of The Dead transfer from Universal though...
Slippery Jack likes this.

Now that is a release that is in much need of improvement. Maybe one day

Strangely I find Day to be one of their best discs in terms of a/v quality. I think the picture quality in particular is superb.

For me it's their lowest along with HbtC.

Tenebre, I avoided for ages. But when I go finally got around to watching, I found myself quite pleased with the transfer, just the noise got a bit annoying.
