Those that follow Arrow will already know about it, those that don't know about it like myself probably have no interest in Facebook so are unlikely to sign up just to enter a competition.

Good point. Arrow had an excellent and thriving presence here, something carefully moderated and organised, then decided Facebook would suit their purposes just as well, even if controlling the comments isn't quite as easy.

If traffic is being directed their way without an official section here and they don't need to pay Mark Zuckerberg a penny, that justifies their decision and irritates those who, like me, did a lot of hard work to make the brand as well known as possible and drive up sales.

It's nothing personal and, if you thought it was, I'm sorry, it's just I put a lot of hard work into helping organise and maintain the Arrow Video section, so it was a bit of a kick in the teeth when they bugged off to Facebook.

I can understand that fully Nos, but to be fair on Suzy she's been posting these arrow updates for ages and as far as I am aware no one has said a peep. Not everyone has facebook so updates on releases, delays etc can be quite handy.

I'm currently still on fb but i barely use it and i am seriously considering coming off due to the sheer quantity of twats using it. In fact Arrow, 88, Screenbound and a few other labels are the only reason I've not done so already so while i completely appreciate where Nos and Dem are coming from, i for one would appreciate release schedules, new title updates and stock levels and the like being kept up to date on here.

I deleted my FB two years ago, then realised that if I want to keep up to date on things I like such as film releases, record labels and tours then I need to be on there, so I reluctantly made a 'ghost' account which doesn't have my real info on there apart from my first name, and I have no friends I tend to not read comments either.

Me too I would have posted about the comp (in fact i think i have done so in the past) simply for all of us who dont use facebook/twitter unless an actual reason comes up to go on it (whatever that may be).

No one was suggesting she couldn't post news here. No one has a problem with cutting and pasting info.

But to actively promote a competition on another site from a company that shafted both us and you, thus taking away traffic from here, i don't think so.
