I honestly don’t know what they were thinking. Were they not allowed to use the original art? Did someone not like it and took the decision not to use it? Personally I think both of the new artworks are awful, i’d rather have Pacino’s noggin on the reverse.

I read somewhere that Warner vetoed the use of the original artwork for whatever reason. Probably because they're Warner.

I don't *love* the new slipcover art, I think it's OK, I do like the reverse art though.

I don't particularly like any of the original posters though, except the Japanese one and perhaps the German one but that's just me... and Warner would 100% veto those
