I'd buy for the making of documentary. So most likely just wait until sales for it.

I'll buy this if the below classic art's on the reverse of that terrible 'Triffid/osophegus/Without Warning/pussy' artwork!

Hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just the steelbook that gets that art and the regular release gets the art on included poster.

I quite liked it all told; although the Mill Creek Blu-ray is probably good enough for me, as I seem to recall that it sports a very fine transfer. It has quite a spooky atmosphere and a decent sense of dread.

Excited about 'Sisters'. Any chance that will be 4K?

I think Dune is a great example of 80s excess. Although it obviously couldn't fit everything in, it sticks quite close to the novel, even to the extent of having the characters inner thoughts expressed in voice over (italics are used in the novel).

Far from being too long and boring I thought it was too short to do the book justice. I think at the time it was criticised for being too complicated, which is perhaps, more of a reflection of the dumbing down of films for 80s audiences and therefore not playing to their expectations of simple action/plots. It will be interesting what approach Villeneuve will take in this respect?

Anyway it was better than Star Wars: Return of the Jedi...

STANDARD EDITION UK TITLE: El Topo (Blu-ray)

Release date: August 2

"A mind-blowing ‘acid-western’ which shocked and bedazzled audience upon its controversial original release, El Topo – Jodorowsky’s most violent and notorious film – single-handedly invented the American midnight movie phenomenon!

Jodorowsky's most violent and notorious film sees the director play 'The Mole' of the title: a black-clad. master gunfighter. In the first half, El Topo journeys across the desert dreamscape with his young son (Brontis Jodorowsky) to duel with four sharp-shooting Zen masters, who each bestow a Great Lesson before they die. In the second half, El Topo becomes the guru of a subterranean tribe of deformed outcasts who he must liberate from depraved cultists in a neighbouring town.

A countercultural masterpiece which ingeniously combines iconic Americana symbolism with Jodorowsky's own idiosyncratic surrealist aesthetic, El Topo is an incredible journey through nightmarish violence, mind-bending mysticism and awe-inspiring imagery. This era-defining film is now presented in a stunning new 4K restoration with a wealth of newly produced and archival extras
"
