I first saw Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on VHS in the late 1990s. As the only copy I own is a DVD bought in 2006 for the princely sum of £3.51, I think an upgrade is overdue. I like the film, despite its shortcomings, and will likely pick up the 4K Ultra HD release.

Yeah that short is the most appealing thing for me about that release. Only saw kenneth branagh version once, was certainly better than Coppola's adaptation of dracula. Just yeah like others werent impressed with de Niro as the monster.

I love Brannaghs version of Frankenstein. A definite upgrade for me. Pity there doesn't seem to be much involvement from the filmmakers on the extras though. I had a huge cardboard standing promotional thing I'd managed to pilfer from my local rental store when the film first hit vhs. Not sure what happened to it when I moved out from my parents. I saw it at the cinema when it first came out. Wasn't overly impressed Saw that one at the cinema when it first came out as well. Again, wasn't overly impressed We all know De Niro is a method actor. I've always wondered what he had to do to 'get into character' for this particular role!
