£50.97 well spent.

Sounds a lot like me when I go to HMV intending to buy only one thing

I only ordered Virgin Witch and The Mary Millington Movie Collection a couple of days ago and they arrived earlier today. Can't beat that for service! I've ordered from them many times over the years, but I honestly can't remember how quickly other orders arrived in tha past.

I'd quite like The Mary Millington Collection.

The only problem is i have all the films already on dvd and know how abysmal they ALL are.

The best thing about the set is Simon Sheridan's Respectable doc.

I have them all on DVD as well, although I've never watched any of them. I also have the documentary on DVD, although I have watched that one and enjoyed it. So I've upgraded from DVD to Blu-ray without ever having watched any of the films, which is sadly a common thing for me!

It wouldn't be so bad but Mary isn't in them that much except for The Playbirds which itself has one or two decent horror style scenes including a stake burning.

I've never seen a Mary Millington film, so this was a complete blind buy.

Can anyone advise me what the Screenbound transfer is like for Virgin Witch?

I have the Redemption release so was wondering what it was like in comparison to that. It's a terrible film, but I like VW as a campy bit of Brit-sleaze, but I wasn't too fussed to upgrade at the price it was at. But for a better picture-quality I'm tempted at the price it is now.

Any views...?

I thought the picture quality was very good for an indie film from the seventies. However i have no idea what the Redemption release looks like so cannot compare. I can only say the Screenbound Blu was far superior to the Screenbound dvd.

After doing some research it looks like it's the same print as Redemption's. So not sure what the 'new restoration' is all about unless they've removed some of the spots and speckles?

Back on the fence in terms of buying...

Been doing a bit of research and it's the film dirt and scratches they've cleaned up. There also seems to be a touch more detail in darker scenes but it's not a huge difference. The package itself is really nice and recommended for that alone. The set weighs a ton too. It has a proper collectible feel to it
