Has anyone made a theatrical screening of Nosferatu yet?

Given the relatively limited number of places showing it nationwide, I would of thought it would do quite well.

Anyone interested in the Mizoguchi box set should get their pre-orders in. It's limited to 2,000 and apparently already very close to selling out.

By "pop along" I assume that's quite close to you Stephen? Nearest screening to me is around a hundred and twenty mile round trip. |

I'm not aware of his stuff. Any good? Worth pre-ordering?

Mizoguchi would be considered a woman's director meaning he made a lot of melodramas about the plight of women within Japanese society so his films wouldn't have the pyrotechnics of say Kurosawa or Fukasaku. Personally I love Mizoguchi, I watched one of his films yesterday (Osaka Elegy, (1936) from the Artificial Eye Blu box) and for anyone interested in Japan and the Japanese, his films are tremendous...
