Me too, I like the matte finish on the eureka steelbooks and they generally feel a bit sturdier than most

Kevin from Eureka confirmed it over at Blu-ray.com when someone asked about the steel. No reason was given, but it may have mentioned elsewhere (Facebook/Twitter etc.) - possibly a cost issue though.

I also buy their Steelbooks over the amarays. According to Kevin, If.... will be a pretty stacked release - this fact combined with the steelbook option was tempting me to buy it (I already have the Criterion BD you see). I will just stick with my Criterion release for now and at the very least wait for a price drop on the amaray before I decide to buy it or not.
