Another alternative is CarnivÃ*le, a superb show which I don't think has ever had a Blu-ray release. I've recently watched the two series on DVD and would warmly welcome a Blu-ray box set.

Is it? I have the Criterion one which is a 4k master as well. If the UK one is better though I might upgrade.

Apparently it's really noticeable on the scenes which have the blue lighting, the UK one handles it really well and the encode is impeccable!
I believe the Criterion one has colour banding as well. I've only got the older Studio Canal one at this point, I will pick up the new one at some point but when it's £10 or less.

Well, they are certainly milking Metropolis for all it's worth. I would guess most people who like the film already own it and perhaps the Moroder version as well, so would they really spend £25 on new packaging?

I've had a look at my collection and I own the original Eureka release, but don't have the Moroder version. If I can sell that version for a reasonable return, I might buy this new double pack. If not, I'll buy the individual release of Moroder's reimagining of Fritz Lang's sci-fi masterpiece.
