Great to hear that these are getting re-released, have been wanting to see Whistle and I'll Come to You and A Warning to the Curious for a while now but the DVDs are so expensive

I wish they were releasing Ghost Stories For Christmas read by Christopher Lee. :(

Maybe if these sell well...

Extras include:

Ghost Stories for Christmas with Christopher Lee – ‘The Stalls of Barchester by MR James’ (Eleanor Yule, 2000, 30 mins): Christopher Lee recreates MR James’ famous soirees, at which the antiquary would read his tales of the supernatural to eager undergraduates.
Ghost Stories for Christmas with Christopher Lee – ‘A Warning to the Curious by MR James’ (Eleanor Yule, 2000, 30 mins): Christopher Lee plays MR James in this dramatic reconstruction of one of the author’s famous Christmas readings.

Make Them Die Slowly 15th July 2012 12:40 PM

I'm looking forwards to these releases though I normally avoid anything with ghosts as they tend to scare the shit out of me for some reason.:behindsofa:

I watch The Signalman every year, when it is suitably cold and dark outside. I just wish it was one big collection rather than 4 dvds.

Slippery Jack 21st July 2012 09:25 AM

HELOOOOOO BELOOOOOW

Creepy stuff. Can't beat the Michael Horden Whistle. Thought the John Hurt version was a big letdown . . .

Yep - agreed. I originally saw this on the telly as a kid ( it was shown on Boxing Day! ) and it frightened the crap out of me! Still very creepy and atmospheric today. Recommended.
