Any fan of the BFI Flipside collection ( or obscure low budget UK movies in general ) should check out Julian Upton's excellent new book Offbeat. It includes reviews of a number of movies that have appeared on the Flipside range - as well as others that would make perfect Flipside releases, including Made, What Became Of Jack And Jill? and Jose Larraz's Symptoms.

Just reviewed Offbeat for Cinema Retro. It is really good. I wish I'd written it!

Jose Larraz's Symptoms is currently something of a lost film. It's on the BFI's wish list.

Symptoms would be a must buy...any talk about The Touchables (uncut please) from the BFI?

I noticed they got Joanna from Fox and The Touchables is also with Fox I think?

The shorts on Sleepwalker sound pretty great too. Can't wait for that. The whole package sounds right up my street, yet I'd never heard of it before. I love how often that happens with a BFI Flipside release.
