Announcement from Vinegar Syndrome:

Quote:

After much speculation, email queries and online rumors, here's the official word on our highlight releases in the first half of 2015:

January will bring a limited-edition blu-ray of SEX WORLD, two Hyapatia Lee films RIBALD TALES OF CANTERBURY & TASTY and a couple of our most requested Tobalina titles.

In February we'll be releasing our final Wakefield Poole disc, a loaded 2-DVD set of his two San Francisco films, TAKE ONE and MOVING, along with a crazy assortment of extras.

Then in March, Jim Bryan's cult classic, DON'T GO IN THE WOODS will be making its blu-ray debut, in a new 2K restoration from the 35mm interpositive(expect more awesome weirdness from the mind of Mr. Bryan later in the year). Also another Cirio Santiago film THE MUTHERS!

In April, DEMONOID will finally be hitting the streets for its first official release since the 1980s! We're including both cuts of the film as well as some other cool extra features.

Finally, in May, one of our most requested titles, MADMAN, will be coming to blu-ray in a beautiful new 4K scan and restoration from the 35mm camera negative!

Also be on the lookout for rarities from Alex deRenzy, Bob Chinn, and much more...

I don't know where to start with Vinegar Syndrome as i've not heard of anything they've released (I don't think).

Has anyone any recommendations?

Their Drive-In Collection double features are certainly a good starting point and can be found pretty cheap on Amazon marketplace too.

It depends what you're into, as they generally release more adult themed films, drive-in exploitation and sleaze, plus plenty of cheese.

One of my favourite releases is Night Train to Terror, but it's hard to recommend really as it won't be for everyone. Runaway Nightmare is also a 'unique' experience, and Massage Parlor Murders is a great little title which I reviewed here a short while ago.

Shame there's no dvd available. That sounds pretty good.

It's available via Alpha but most likely has a print reminiscent of something Ron ate then puked up two days later.

88 Films are releasing Don't Go in the Woods aren't they? Are they releasing Madman as well?

This really isn't going to be a completely helpful comment, I was drawn to them by the covers but have to admit none of the dvd's I picked up had been on my radar beforehand, I just fancied them!

I'm still to watch any of them, I'll possibly fit one in this week but I've gone for items from the Drive In collection - Anatomy of a Psycho Lonely Sex and Suckers/Love Garden I also have Death Force/Vampire Hookers on order. I have a few others on my wishlist including Lost Films of Herschell Gordon Lewis.

I'm in no way sensible when it comes to shopping so it's best not to listen to me.

'Death By Invitation' is a wonderful bit of threadbare seventies weirdness, totally dreamy and dead good. 'Runaway Nightmare' is a film I go a bit over the top about, but I do truly think it's pretty amazing. 'Night Train To Terror' is high grade malfunctioning eighties schlock with a dancing troupe in leg warmers. 'The Jekyll And Hyde Portfolio' is more seventies gloopiness that swings between tedium and mild delirium, worth getting depending on which side of the pendulum your bread's buttered on. Am waiting for the reputedly mental 'Raw Force' to come through. Haven't seen any of the sex stuff, more interested in bizarrenesss. Pleased they're doing 'Demonoid'.

Demdike@Cult Labs 6th November 2014 09:31 PM

Thanks to you all for the recommendations. :)

Vixens of Kung Fu, is what you want Dem...bad kung fu, bad sex and women blowing smoke out of their vaginas. I reviewed it and a couple of other VS porn films on the Sleazy Psychosis thread.

I highly recommend their release of The Telephone Book. Outstanding presentation of a unique film. Punk Vacation is fun and comes with the bonus film "Nomad Riders". Massage Parlor Murders is trashy goodness and a quality blu ray release. The Death Force/Vampire Hookers drive in double bill is quite a fantastic release as well.

Although I would highly recommend to also get the excellent German release of Death Force (available in the VS online store).

But maybe you should hold on a bit, because they are going to do a sale soon :)

We're Proud to Announce our Indiegogo Campaign for VinegarSyndrome.tv!

For much of the past year, we’ve been promoting a streaming site with the name Skinaflix. In the early development stage, it was decided that as wonderful as the Skinaflix concept was, it seemed a mistake to limit it only to sexploitation. With that in mind, we have revamped the concept into VinegarSyndrome.tv, a more diverse streaming service with the inclusion of ALL genres distributed by Vinegar Syndrome and our new label, Etiquette Pictures.

Launching with over 200 titles presented in HD, VinegarSyndrome.tv promises to be a streaming powerhouse for all things exploitation and sleaze, from G rated to full hardcore. Including informative blogs, exclusive titles, and special discounts on DVDs and Blu-rays.

To help speed up the development process and add features such as Roku, iOS and Android apps, we’re launching an Indiegogo campaign. If our goal is met, the site will go live on May 1st. Much of the legwork has already been done, but with a successful campaign, the process could be sped up exponentially. Please give what you can, and if not please promote the campaign and spread the word in any way possible.

For more information and to view the Indiegogo campaign, visit:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/v...-exploitation/

Thanks from Team VS!

I'm so tempted, but if that LE 80s BD is smut, I'd be gutted.

I'll get Madman for sure. And maybe Demonoid.

shel 25th February 2015 11:17 AM

Wonder if that leads to 88 doing Madman BD in UK, would be a fit straight into their slasher collection.

Rik 25th February 2015 11:27 AM

Was thinking the same myself

Hadn't they already announced this? Presumably not as I'm sure you're more on the ball than me. For some reason I was convinced this was coming from 88 Films though.

That's good.

I honestly don't know if i've seen this or not. There are so many Euro horrors floating about on various fifty movie packs with different names they tend to become a blur.

Edit - Now i come to look i do have it on the Undead Vampire Collection.

Strangely it's black and white.

Edit - I guess that's what they meant by proper colour. I thought they meant it was just because of poor washed out or bleeding transfers on the grey market releases.

Demoncrat 20th April 2015 11:40 AM

Night Train To Terror is a hoot. Tis a pity that VS sold out their ST 7"...

Enjoy!

Update in regards to the previous annoucement:

Quote:

This is the 85m YOUNG HANNAH, QUEEN OF THE VAMPIRES version restored from a really nice 35mm dupe negative -- seriously, it looks outstanding! We also have 35mm trailer negative, which contained a shot from the decapitation scene (see still #4). We will most likely edit the decapitated head shot back into the film, as it fits in nicely. There are a few other gore shots from the Spanish version that we cannot find film elements for, so those will be missing (unfortunately).
A shame they couldn't source the additional scenes, however this seems to be shaping up to be an interesting release.

Now available to pre-order on Vinegar Syndrome's site (who are customs friendly by the way!)

I've just been reading about Night Train to Terror and was wondering if I should take a punt.

Sounds interesting but can anyone tell me anything about it, is it similar to anything I may have seen - it looks cheesy, but that's a good thing imo.

It is cheesy!

It's basically a low-budget horror anthology type film where God and The Devil are on a train and tell each other stories in order to barter for souls of the victims from the stories. This is interspersed with cheesy '80s dance routines performed by the occupants of the train. For comparison, I guess it's kind of like a cross between Dr. Terror's House of Horrors and The Monster Club. If you like horror anthologies filled with plenty of melted Monterey Jack then you should enjoy it.

NIGHTMARE WEEKEND
A brilliant computer scientist has just finished work on his greatest creation: a super computer with the ability to transform the personalities of bad and disobedient people. In anticipation of sharing his work with the scientific community, the scientist invites a fellow expert to test the machine on a group of debauched young women. Little does he know that his colleague intends to use the computer to turn their subjects into bloodthirsty mutants!

Made by a French crew in Florida, NIGHTMARE WEEKEND is a non-stop assault on the senses. Long available only in low quality transfers of the R rated version, Vinegar Syndrome presents this forgotten trash masterpiece fully uncut and in widescreen, on Blu-ray for the first time!
