'Event Horizon' update "Originally announced last year, Scream Factory is bringing Paul W.S. Anderson‘s fan favorite 1997 space horror flick Event Horizon to Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, and we’ve learned today that the new release date is March 23, 2021. Additionally, we’ve now got full details. Available March 23, 2021, this collector’s edition of the cult classic boasts a new 4k scan of the original camera negative as well as a bevy of brand-new bonus features, including an interview with director Paul W.S. Anderson, an interview with writer Philip Eisner, interviews with actress Kathleen Quinlan, actor Jack Noseworthy and actor Peter Marinker, an interview with production designer Joseph Bennett and much, much more! As expected, the gruesome “Anderson Cut” remains elusive. In regards to that, Scream Factory notes: “We did an exhaustive search for film elements for the director’s cut, but as you’ll hear in his new 2021 interview, director Paul W.S. Anderson doesn’t think his cut will materialize. Unfortunately, much of the footage is lost and as he mentions, he’d need to shoot new footage. We moved the release date a few times because of some leads, but to our disappointment, they didn’t pan out. We definitely tried our best.”" Special features:
"Its name: Event Horizon. The high-tech, pioneering research spacecraft mysteriously vanished without a trace on its maiden voyage seven years ago. But a weak, persistent signal from the long-missing craft prompts a rescue team, headed by the intrepid Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne), to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Accompanying Miller is his elite crew and the lost ship’s designer (Sam Neill). What they uncover is unimaginable interstellar horror."

This was posted on FB by a company called Unobstructed View I don't know if it means *they* are not selling Shout Factory products between March and April or whether Shout Factory *themselves* are not selling stock between these dates "Due to a North American distribution reset the entire Shout Factory! catalogue will be temporarily unavailable through March and most of April. We will not be accepting backorders through this moratorium. All announced new releases have been pushed to May, and inventories listed on our site is what will be available through this blackout period. We will keep you informed as to the schedule for the resumption of shipping. Thank you!"

Quite a nice package aside from the crappy artwork (and lithograph). The figure is cool but not really worth the cost it would be to import to the UK, sadly. |
