'Wildcats' (1986) - Blu-Ray pre-order available from Shout Factory direct - $21.98

Release date: May 18

""It had me cheering from the bleachers. Goldie Hawn scores a touchdown." – Rex Reed, New York Post

Central High is an inner-city Chicago combat zone sometimes called a school. It has a brawn-before-brains football team of rowdy rappers, bruisers and losers. What's Molly McGrath doing there? Coaching football!

All-American charmer Goldie Hawn is Molly, who turns the team's wayward ways into winning plays in this comedy of heart, family and football directed by Michael Ritchie (The Bad News Bears). The Wildcats are a motley crew with a perfect record: zero victories. But when the spunky new coach gets into the groove, the kids start resembling a team and go for the glory! In fact, a pair of these players would later reteam in two box-office hits: Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson (White Men Can't Jump, Money Train)."

Extras in progress and will be announced at a later date.

'Event Horizon' update

"Originally announced last year, Scream Factory is bringing Paul W.S. Anderson‘s fan favorite 1997 space horror flick Event Horizon to Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, and we’ve learned today that the new release date is March 23, 2021. Additionally, we’ve now got full details.

Available March 23, 2021, this collector’s edition of the cult classic boasts a new 4k scan of the original camera negative as well as a bevy of brand-new bonus features, including an interview with director Paul W.S. Anderson, an interview with writer Philip Eisner, interviews with actress Kathleen Quinlan, actor Jack Noseworthy and actor Peter Marinker, an interview with production designer Joseph Bennett and much, much more!

As expected, the gruesome “Anderson Cut” remains elusive. In regards to that, Scream Factory notes: “We did an exhaustive search for film elements for the director’s cut, but as you’ll hear in his new 2021 interview, director Paul W.S. Anderson doesn’t think his cut will materialize. Unfortunately, much of the footage is lost and as he mentions, he’d need to shoot new footage. We moved the release date a few times because of some leads, but to our disappointment, they didn’t pan out. We definitely tried our best.”"

Special features:
  • NEW 4K scan of the original camera negative
  • NEW Reflecting on Hell – an interview with director Paul W.S. Anderson
  • NEW Ghost Galleon – an interview with writer Philip Eisner
  • NEW Organized Chaos – an interview with actress Kathleen Quinlan
  • NEW Compassion in Space – an interview with actor Jack Noseworthy
  • NEW The Doomed Captain – an interview with actor Peter Marinker
  • NEW Space Cathedral – an interview with production designer Joseph Bennett
  • NEW Something New – an interview with set decorator Crispian Sallis
  • NEW Taking Care of It – an interview with production manager Dusty Symonds
  • NEW Reinforcements – an interview with second unit director Robin Vidgeon
  • NEW Almost Real – an interview with location manager Derek Harrington
  • NEW Screams from the Cosmos – an interview with sound designer Campbell Askew
  • Audio Commentary with director Paul W.S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt
  • The Making of EVENT HORIZON – a 5-part documentary
  • The Point of No Return – a 4-part look at the filming of EVENT HORIZON with narration by Paul W.S. Anderson
  • Secrets – deleted and extended scenes with director’s commentary
  • The Unseen EVENT HORIZON – The un-filmed rescue scene and conceptual art with director’s commentary
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Video Trailer

"Its name: Event Horizon. The high-tech, pioneering research spacecraft mysteriously vanished without a trace on its maiden voyage seven years ago. But a weak, persistent signal from the long-missing craft prompts a rescue team, headed by the intrepid Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne), to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Accompanying Miller is his elite crew and the lost ship’s designer (Sam Neill). What they uncover is unimaginable interstellar horror."

This was posted on FB by a company called Unobstructed View

I don't know if it means *they* are not selling Shout Factory products between March and April or whether Shout Factory *themselves* are not selling stock between these dates

"Due to a North American distribution reset the entire Shout Factory! catalogue will be temporarily unavailable through March and most of April. We will not be accepting backorders through this moratorium. All announced new releases have been pushed to May, and inventories listed on our site is what will be available through this blackout period. We will keep you informed as to the schedule for the resumption of shipping. Thank you!"

Quite a nice package aside from the crappy artwork (and lithograph).

The figure is cool but not really worth the cost it would be to import to the UK, sadly.
