I hate reading this thread since I have a PS3 as my blu-ray player I'm loathe to pay out for a region free stand-alone player and those Toshiba ones now are no longer being made and all the retailers seem to have cottoned on that they can be made region free and are selling the remaining stock at full rrp rather than the usual deals to get rid of old stock - richer sounds has none either

Nope. Not for me.

That MGM cover is monumentally better than that SF atrocity.

Any artwork including Cropsy's burnt face is a huge spoiler ridden error.

There isn't much good artwork for The Burning. In fact the MGM cover may be the best I have seen.

Then you'll be disappointed with the "mills & boon" artwork that will be on the reverse of the SF release I assume. I think it's great and always loved it.

The Mills & Boon is still much better than SF's front cover effort!

I can't see myself getting the BD anyway, the DVD is fine. Not a must upgrade for me.

Unless I saw it cheap enough!

I'm not multi region so I'm really looking forward to
Second Sights release of From Beyond on bluray.
If I was multi region, I'd pick up both releases in a heartbeat.

Second sight BD of From Beyond for me, doesn't seem to be that much difference in the releases really, with the scream factory having only slightly more extras.

Almost twice as many is more than slightly more I'd say.

Almost twice as many? I think you need to look at the SS features list again.

Second Sight:
Stuart Gordon on From Beyond
Gothic Adaptation - An interview with writer Dennis Paoli
The Doctor Is In - An interview with Barbara Crampton
Monsters and Slime - The Effects of From Beyond

+ all of those same features SF are also carrying over from the DVD release.

Hardly twice as many. Judging from how intensive and thorough a lot of SS's newly commisioned features are (that single feature on Southern Comfort is 45 minutes, for example; deceptively more that it appears you're getting), I'd say it is far too early to tell. Although annoying the SS edition has gone up to £17.50 from £13.99 on Amazon, very few sources for them to price match now too

Ah, right, didn't know the SS disc had more features than the dvd. I'll be getting both anyway. The SF has superior artwork (on the reverse).

I'm glad that I pre-ordered at the £13.99 price in that case!
