I've been interested in this question too.

Hell, Id start a big review blog and review all of the titles I owned, if it meant I could get review disc from Arrow or Scream Factory.

Hell, ANYONE!

The hole is there to hold the disc in place in the case and so the disc can spin in the machine

Ok there is crap artwork and then there is artwork that is not right for a release. The artwork for The Burning is in the latter category, you cannot say that the artwork is crap when it's superbly well drawn and colored. If people just said it's wrong for the release then that's ok, but to take the piss out of someone's work is quite insulting, if you don't like it then that's fair enough but you all have to admit that it is a good bit of art. I've seen the artwork for Prison and that actually does have some problems, especially Viggo's face, but i wouldn't go out of my way to actually insult the art it's self, there is constructive criticism then there is just being plain nasty.

just my two cents as an artist.

Let me just also point out that i did actually slag off the artwork for Amsterdamned, now i hold my hands up to that one because there is a difference between taking the time to painstakingly draw and color a piece of original art than a two minute photoshop job which was obviously what happened with that film, just in case anyone calls me on that and accuses me of being a hypocrite.

I write for a few different magazines so I occasionally get sent screeners. Sometimes I request certain titles, sometimes stuff arrives out of the blue!

Screeners are mostly DVDrs or plain blu rays with no packaging or artwork. Occasionally you get lucky and are sent the real deal, but not that often. It's cool though, I'm not complaining!

I've done a bit of promoting labels like Arrow, Shameless, SF, Criterion and Second Sight on other forums. Always considered starting reviewing more often, but as it is at the moment I don't really have time. Thanks for the info chum.

I love The Burnings artwork, but I do believe a big problem is actually showing Cropseys face, which is quite a big spoiler, leaving the end packing less of a punch
