Nah....there's plenty of people NOT multi-region so Arrow will still have a sizeable market to cater for. I really can't afford to go multi-region at the moment, so as pleasing as the Scream! Factory announcements are, they're completely and utterly worthless to me, unfortunately.

Still, their Vampire Lovers seems to be fregion-free. If it really is, then I think they'll notice a spike in sales for that title and will give them a true indication of just how many copies they could be selling from their catalogue if they had a global market to play to. But region-coding has put paid to that. Seriously, name me one other industry that deliberately restricts sales of its goods and deliberately shrinks its potential market share...

I'm sure most companies are aware of how region coding restricts their sales but if their hands are tied then their hands are tied. If the licensors want to restrict the region coding to maximise their own sales of the film in other territories there's nothing the releasing companies can do.

It's not done to restrict sales of the goods as such, it's so the films licensors can sell the rights to other territories to make more money. So it IS done from a financial point of view.

(I know you probably know this Dae but I'm just reiterating that Scream Factory will be missing out on sales through no fault of their own while the film licensors will be making more money through region locking the titles)

That's it, I'm putting one of my kidneys on eBay so I can go multi-region!
