I also love Night Of The Comet. The "valley girls vs. the world" setting is what I think makes it stand out. Catherine Mary Stewart doesn't hurt either.

This "comic book" style of art that has taken the horror world by storm is getting rather tiresome though.

I really don't understand why everyone is complaining so much about SF's new artworks. I could see the point if it was the only art on their releases, but the original stuff is on the reverse. Apparently, someone told Nathan on Facebook that this art was shit and has nothing to do with the film. Not sure which NOTC he's seen, but it looks like it has a lot to do with it to me.

Just because there's a better, original option doesn't mean people can't express their dislike over the new art though.

It's great that the original option is there (although slightly redundant with the slipcover) but its still a shame that the opportunity for a new piece of art for the cover had turned out so poor for a lot of people.

Tbh, I've only seen a few negative comments about the new art.

It's the only one I haven't liked so far to be honest. Loads of people disliked The Burning which I thought was great.

I guess my point is that people look forward to the new art as much as you look forward to the original art. Your comment would be like me saying "I don't know why you're so bothered they didn't use the original US poster, at least you get some brand spanking new art instead though", which isn't much consolation if you're only really bothered about the original art

Like I say though, the whole thing is slightly redundant with the slipcover as that's always going to be on the front for a lot of people anyway.

I haven't seen NotC by the way - is it any good?

Same artist, innit? I guess SF are going for an 'in-house' style with all their art looking like comic book covers. I prefer the Arrow approach, bringing in a wide range of styles. Even though I don't always like em, at least they don't all look the same . . .

imo, it is. I'd say it's up there with that other NOTC (Night Of The Creeps). Although, wether that's a good or bad thing depends on what you think of Creeps.

It's not redundant at all, you have the new artwork on the slipcover, and use the old artwork on the case

I know but the the new art is always going to be on show isn't it? It's always the first thing you see unless you remove it completely.
