'Event Horizon' (1997) - Blu-Ray pre-order available from Shout Factory direct - $28.43

Release date: September 29th

"In space, you will be hearing many screams as we unleash 1997’s gruesome EVENT HORIZON, featuring a new 4K scan, this Fall!

Synopsis

"[It] doesn’t just borrow from fine antecedents, it takes their future shock value to new heights, using genuinely original FX and creep camerawork to great effect." – Empire Magazine

Its name: Event Horizon. The high-tech, pioneering research spacecraft mysteriously vanished without a trace on its maiden voyage seven years ago. But a weak, persistent signal from the long-missing craft prompts a rescue team, headed by the intrepid Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne), to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Accompanying Miller is his elite crew and the lost ship's designer (Sam Neill). What they uncover is unimaginable interstellar horror."

Details we have currently are as follows:
  • National street date for North America (Region A) is planned for Sept 29th. Please note that the date could change as we are still experiencing a domino effect from the COVID situation--which has caused numerous delays for earlier releases in our schedule, as you have seen We’ll do our best to keep this date of course, but we’re still in an unprecedented time in which getting access to talent for extras or setting up film transfers are more challenging than they were before. We appreciate your understanding now and in advance and hopefully there will be some stabilization.
  • This is being presented as a Collector’s Edition release and will come guaranteed with a slipcover in its first three months of release.
  • The newly commissioned artwork you see pictured comes to us from artist Joel Robinson. This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature the original theatrical artwork.
  • New extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date (Aug timing, and also depending on current events). We can confirm today that we are doing a new 4K scan of the film! As for any much-inquired-about additional footage (in addition to what's be presented on prior releases), we are looking into it as best we can. We welcome any leads you may have alongside our efforts.

Depending on the extra features I might pick that up early! I love Event Horizon, shame about the new commissioned art though.

'The Vincent Price Collection' (Re-issue) - Blu-Ray pre-order available at Shout Factory direct - $47.97

Release date: September 22nd

Several years ago, we had to take the first volume of THE VINCENT PRICE COLLECTION out of circulation due to rights issues that came up after its original release in 2013. Today we are pleased to bring it back in a slightly modified form!

It will include all the same films on the prior release – The Pit and The Pendulum, The Haunted Palace, House of Usher, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Witchfinder General and The Masque of the Red Death.

The vintage introductions that were on the prior release of original set, unfortunately, have had to be removed. However, we will be adding some new extras to this new re-issue set and will be announced on a later date.

THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH will now contain the two cuts of the film, one version longer with more footage

HP Lovecraft in space with a cool techno soundtrack by The Orbital! Most people hate it, but it seems like it has a few fans on this forum
