The first 4 films have new 4k scans and they look really good, the other 4 Paramount films don't have a new scan but they have been given a better disc encode, rather than sharing 2 films and special features per disc on the old edition they have a disc each so they look better in terms of less digital noise etc. Jason Goes to Hell has a new 2k scan and looks great, Jason X is the same as the previous 4 Paramounts, not a new scan but more breathing room.

Freddy Vs Jason and F13th (2009) are the exact same discs as are currently available.

Going to give one of them a spin tonight.
Really don't want to go into work this coming week & these films are like "comfort food".

I started off yesterday with Parts 3 and 4 (As I watched the first 2 not long ago) and they looked great.

Does part 3 contain extra violence?
It seemed a bit more graphic than before....

From Melon Farmers

"Cut for an MPAA R Rating. This version was passed X for 1982 cinema release but further cuts were required by the BBFC for 1987 18 rated VHS. The BBFC video cuts were waived for 2001 18 rated DVD and 2009 15 rated Blu-ray and are the same as cut US R rated releases."

There's no indication so far that the new release is any different.
