Amazon actually. The first two reviewers really don't like it. Blooray.com gave the transfer a mere three stars in their review.

Like you i was also thinking of grabbing both Asylum and The House That Dripped Blood. May opt for From Beyond instead.

Although when Amazon catch up Midnight Run will be a definite, perhaps The Changeling too.

I've got From Beyond and The Changeling and they both look and sound great! I haven't got Midnight Run though so can't say about that.

Here is the DVDBeaver review for Asylum
Asylum Blu-ray - Britt Ekland

The SS is a compromised transfer but it's still the best out there. There may not be better elements? I love the movie so I'd still rather have it in my collection even if it is not reference level... at least until someone improves on it.

The House That Dripped Blood appears to be better although the reviewer complains the black levels are a little too light.
The House That Dripped Blood Blu-ray - Peter Cushing

Cheers. I've already ordered three blu's this week including the Eureka Troll set (Grrr! you're a bad influence) so will wait until next week now.

You won't be disappointed with the Troll set.

I have both ASYLUM and THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD.

I can't see the problem. All look good to me.

Midnight Run isn’t great - the Shout Select release is a lot nicer looking but it’s region-locked.

I watched Asylum last night, and I think the issue is that the HD brings out the low budget, was this filmed on 16mm? However I thought it looked fine for the most part and those close ups of Robert Powell’s sparkly eyes looked nice!

The film is bonkers though, in a good way! I gasped when the head rolled into the kitchen haha…

Some really nice special features as well including a 25 min on set report by the BBC from 1972, which is also transferred from film and looks great!

"THE VVITCH: LIMITED EDITION will now be delayed until June 20th. We're very sorry to report this, however we have decided to work on a new HDR grade with the involvement of Robert Eggers. We believe the end result will be worth the extra time and work involved and hope fans of the film will agree. Apologies again and if anyone wants to cancel their order please email us at info@secondsightfilms.co.uk."

That doesn't bother me – better delayed than flawed.
