It's been years since I saw Frontier(s) and remember it being very nasty, a proper 'ordeal film' with a scene involving bolt cutters that still makes me shudder!

I know it has its detractors, but I really like Switchblade Romance/Haute Tension, a compelling watch which, like Frontier(s) is appropriately brutal.

Both are long overdue another viewing.

Haute Tension was good although not as good as the book it apparently wasn't based on by Dean Koontz, but i found Frontier(s) disappointing. I expected more in the violence stakes from French horror after seeing the brilliant Inside from the same year.

Like you i haven't seen either in years. Once you know the revelation of Haute Tension it kind of kills it a little. Could rewatch Frontier(s) this week. See what i think of it now.

I enjoyed Switchblade Romance (great title if not the original, it's my preference.) The ending however left me confused, it just didn't make sense. That said enough of what led up to it was good that I'd consider a blu. Haven't watched my dvd in years though to decide if AV quality would be worth upgrading.

Yeah saw haute tension at frightfest. The guy next to me creeped me out a little he was laughing just a bit too much at the family being murdered.
The acting was great but just about everyone agrees that the final part is terrible.

It was weird I had a dream about a car chase of people being human trafficked in a small truck/van to the exact same muse song couple of years before the film came out.

Not read intensity but did see the TV movie adaptation and can see the similarities (also preferred the story even if it was bloodless) and wouldn't be surprised if that's where the idea came from.

Koontz stated that he was aware of the comparison but would not sue

"because he found the film so puerile, so disgusting, and so intellectually bankrupt that he didnít want the association with it that would inevitably come if he pursued an action against the filmmaker."

Great practical FX from De Rossi.

This lot are definite rip off merchants.

Twenty eight quid for a bit of a book and some small post cards.

And their artworks are bloody awful as well.
