It might be worth holding back from the Second Sight release of 'Martin'

"Black and white, 3.5 hour Director’s Cut version of George Romero’s 'Martin' has been located. Being returned to Richard Rubinstein / Braddock Associates for restoration and distribution! From 'Ronald Gorewood' AKA Michael Gornick, Martin’s director of photography. "

I tried watching Martin a few week back, I really couldn’t get into it.
Found it really dull and boring got quite a bit into it then gave up.

Well not everyone can have good taste I guess Gag!

RE these new found reels, I doubt that Second Sight will get access to them, or if they do it will delay this release even further and it'd be another year to wait! No doubt that Rubinstein will hold them ransom to the highest bidder. Seems quite coincidental that they've been 'found' just as Second Sight are wrapping up the production of their re-master.

Martin is quite a slow burn film so not to everyone's taste. If there is one criticism of Romero which might be valid it's that outside of his living dead films and The Crazies he might be guilty of being a bit slack in the edit allowing films to meander a little. While this works to Martin's advantage imo I'm wondering if 3.5 hours might be a bit much?

Fantastic news. I rate Martin very highly and is, a few of his zombie films notwithstanding, possibly my favourite Romero film.

Took me quite a few viewings to appreciate it Gag.

I remember watching it for the first time on an old Redemption VHS and thinking...wtf is this shit?
Romero?

However, with subsequent viewings it IS a unique horror film.

I have to agree with this. I still wouldn't say its a masterpiece but I definitely appreciated more after a few viewings.
