Very true. The increases in shipping costs over the years haven't helped either, nor the increasingly weak pound. I only ever order during sales.

I usually buy their releases from WOWHD, they are reasonably priced and no extra postage, just the VAT after £15. They do usually take a fortnight or so to get here but out of all my WOW orders I've never had one go missing or arrive damaged.

If you are not bothered about getting the limited editions a good way to collect them is in their site sales. I bought 7 in the last sale and it worked out at just under 15 quid per disc. Be aware though, you are playing russian roulette with customs, although I haven't had anything intercepted.

Agree, MM are a great label!

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT #1

Paul Naschy is back! And this time he’s out for vengeance! Making its worldwide disc debut, it’s …

'NIGHT OF THE EXECUTIONER' (1992)

"Dr Hugo Arranz (Paul Naschy) is commemorating his 50th birthday with his wife and daughter. As the celebrations reach their height, the family are terrorized by a gang of violent street thugs who have broken into their home. Initially the gang are after jewels and cash. But once they have their helpless victims tied up and defenseless, their thoughts turn to violence. They rape Arranz’s wife and daughter and then, annoyed by the doctor’s protests, they cut out his tongue and leave him for dead.

Arranz survives the attack and recovers after a stay in hospital. Abandoning his medical practice, he seeks vengeance on the men and women who destroyed his life. He embarks on a strenuous course of physical training, involving knives, guns and punishing bouts of weight lifting. Finally, he is ready to go in pursuit of his prey. But to track them down, he must enter the sleazy underworld which his potential victims inhabit. In the process, Dr Arranz begins to learn much, not only about his targets but also about himself.

NIGHT OF THE EXECUTIONER was Paul Naschy’s last complete film as writer/director/ actor. It’s a shocking and thrilling ride into the dark underbelly of the city and a true tribute to its star’s ability to craft exciting and thought provoking entertainment"

£19.75

Until now THE WITCHES MOUNTAIN has been a difficult film to see in anything approaching the way its makers intended. For complicated reasons, fully explored in the extras on the disc, the film was banned in Spain. This led to a kind of urban legend that it was a violent and misogynistic film full of scenes of sex and depravity. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, THE WITCHES MOUNTAIN is one of the most unique films of the 1970s Spanish horror boom. It’s atmospheric, mystical and elusive – a film that lingers in your mind long after you’ve seen it.

Region: FREE

Special Features:

English and Spanish audio choice, with optional English subtitles.

Two interviews with actor John (Cihangir) Gaffari. One explores the films he made in Europe and the US, the second interview looks at his extensive body of work in Iranian and Turkish cinema.

A documentary about the making of the film.

Audio commentary from David Flint.

Visual essay about Patty Shepard from Chris O’Neill

Trailer.

Newly commissioned cover art from Justin Coffee.
