OK, I'll have a bash for what it's worth...

How about 'Harry Potter' being inspired by 'Suspiria' ... the train journey to a college, witchcraft, a wide-eyed and innocent hero, the similarities are endless (well actually, they pretty much end there!!)

Also, who can watch 'Dumb and Dumber' and say those bowl-headed barnets aren't inspired by our gut-munching friends from 'Cannibal Holocaust'???

Finally, the recent Hayden Christensen film 'Awake' seems to have borrowed some of its main premise from 'Short Night of the Glass Dolls'. I've not seen 'Awake' so don't know how far these similarities are stretched but the idea of being operated on whilst conscious also underpins Aldo Lado's film.

Recent dullfest "Diary of the Dead" was a mockumentary style homage to the real-life events depicted "Night of the Living Dead".

Also, Spanish masterpiece "Rec" was a fantastically realistic and frightening Crimewatch U.K inspired recreation, documenting the aftermath of some sort of incident that occurred four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spread throughout the UK.

Four weeks after? Sorry, meant 28 days later...

"Indiana Jones" rips of Fulci's "Black Cat" because... erm... it just does alright! Trust me on this one!

From what I've heard about it, the pro-creationist documentary Expelled seems to have taken some tips from Mondo Cane when it comes to intellectual honesty...
